SUMMARY
Don’t you hate it when your favorite apps don’t function the
way you would like them to? As a designer I’m always looking
at my favorite products and asking myself what I would change.
Redesigning existing products is a fun way for me to grow as a
designer and continue to develop my skills. Not all of my redesigns
are successful but I’m always working, learning, and striving to be
better at what I do. Here is a look at a redesign of a sports radio
and news source.

NEWS FEED
The original design (left) was difficult to immediately differentiate between articles and videos. The redesign (right) was designed to increase readability and allow readers to view a hierarchy of events such as the top story, videos, and important news articles. Title text, author information, and the first couple lines of text were removed from the original design in order to simply the look of the page and draw viewers interest by highlighting images and making titles clear and distinguishable.
NAVIGATION
Navigation on the mobile home screen (left) requires users to scroll through the blue tabs at the top of the screen. The scrolling action moves horizontally from right to left. The current configuration of the menu mostly displays three menu items. Without arrows or prompts users might not understand that more menu items exist, thus, leaving half the site undiscoverable. The new mobile menu allows users to view a drop down menu where items are listed vertically with important menu items at the top. Hopefully this change would allow KSR followers to easily access and select their favorite KSR topics.
